My philosophy on teaching includes a combined approach.
Each student is a unique person with a particular set of gifts/talents and therefore may demonstrate different strengths and perhaps face certain challenges when it comes to perfecting the art of playing piano. By knowing the person I work with, I can best motivate them and help to draw the best out of them.
Different students require different approaches based on their musical and personal background and/or their attitudes.
My goal as a teacher is to share my love, passion and inexorable enthusiasm for all types of music.
As a teacher of music I feel that music must not be approached in a vacuum. My aim is to bring exposure to other aspects as they relate to music such as art, literature, culture, world history, philosophical/ psychological elements in order for students to fully engage.
