A note from the Principal
For me, music is a form a communication, just like speech.
We want to feel each phrase as a rhetorical gesture, a tilt of the head, moving slightly forward or backwards with the upper body, sweeping of the arm, a cry of delight, query, sobbing, yearning, elaboration, an experience of wonder.
My goal as a teacher is to help aspiring pianists find this full range of expression.
Why learn in the Advance Program?
This program is the blank beginnings of a junior conservatorium program. Currently there does not exist a program for junior musicians that mirrors other elite programs like the Conservatorium high school etc . With this unique program we hope to bring out the very best in our students. We want our students in this program to excel and to achieve great things. We will create a tailored-made program for each student where we will have distinct goals and have a well thought out action plan as to how these objectives can be achieved.
Whether it’s to audition for the Sydney Conservatorium High school, get excellent marks in the AMEB exams or participate in an eisteddfod or other performance, this program will push and inspire our students to be the best that they can be.
